Chocolate Mousse

Here’s what you need:
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Add the chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of the heavy cream to a small saucepan or microwave safe bowl. Heat until the chips are melted and fully incorporated into the cream. The mixture should be thick and smooth. Set aside to cool to room temperature. 
 
Whisk 1 cup of heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Remove about 1/2 cup to use as topping. 
 
Gently fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the remaining whipped cream until fully combined and smooth. 
 
Add to your dessert dishes and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
 
**This can be served immediately or refrigerated until ready to serve. The colder it is, the more set it will be. If you like a creamier mousse, remove from the refrigerator 15 minutes before serving.
