Frosted Cake Brownies (Just like when we were in school!)

Brownies:
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
Using a stand mixer or a hand mixer, in a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth and the cocoa powder is completely dissolved.
Add the flour, salt, and sugar and then mix together. The mixture will be dry and crumbly. Don't panic! :)
Add in the eggs, one at a time, and the vanilla and mix until smooth. (Add additions now, if using.)
Pour into your prepared pan and bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
Frosting:
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
While the brownies are baking, mix all of the frosting ingredients together in a medium bowl. Frosting will be thick, similar to a tub of store-bought frosting. Set aside until ready to use.
Remove brownies from the oven and allow them to cool 15 - 20 minutes before frosting. Cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
**NOTES: I added about 1 cup of chopped walnuts to my brownies in the video. You can also add other additions like chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, pecans, etc.
