Chicken & Dumplings
Aug 05, 2024Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup milk
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 lb cooked chicken in about 6-7 cups of broth
When the chicken is fully cooked and about 15 min before you’re ready to eat…mix the flour, salt, baking powder and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, add the butter and milk and bring to a good simmer over medium low heat. Do not boil, just a good simmer.
When it’s hot, pour over the flour mixture and mix with a fork until combined. Don’t over mix it!
Gently drop them into the simmering chicken broth by the tablespoonful. Work quickly because you want to get the lid on as quickly as you can.
Once you have them all in the pan, put the lid on and cook for 10 minutes. Don’t lift the lid! Remember, if your lookin' you aren't cookin'! :)
After 10 minutes, remove the lid and serve with veggies on the side. Enjoy!
