Cherry Angel Food Cake

Here’s what you need:
 
  • 1 box Angel Food Cake Mix
  •  20-24 oz of your favorite fruit pie filling (I went with cherry!)
 
If you want to make your own cream, you will need:
 
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
 
For the cake:
 
Add the cake mix to your mixing bowl and add the pie filling (reserving a bit for garnish). Mix with a fork until well combined and beginning to foam up and get fluffy.
 
Pour into an UNgreased 9x13 pan and bake in a preheated oven for 35-40 min. Mine took right at 40 minutes, but ovens will vary.
 
For the Whipped Cream:
 
If using homemade cream, take a very cold metal or glass bowl and add the cream. Begin to beat, or use the whisk attachment on your stand mixer, until it starts to thicken. Add the vanilla and the powdered sugar and continue beating until it reaches the consistency you like.
 
Serve your cake with a healthy dollop of cream and some of the fruit you reserved for garnish. Enjoy!
