Best BBQ Sauce

What you will need:

1 small onion finely diced
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp chili powder
2 Tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
1 1/2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp salt
2-4 Tbsp brown sugar (can sub white sugar or maple syrup)
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup water

Melt your butter over medium heat in a small saucepan. Finely dice your onion and add to the hot butter. Cook until the onions are soft and just starting to have color.

Add all of your seasonings and stir to combine. Add your ketchup and water and mix well.

Cook on medium low heat stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens to your liking. Usually about an hour does it. If you don’t want the bits of onion, you can use an immersion blender to smooth it out.

This recipe makes about one pint of sauce. You can easily double if needed and it will stay good for about two weeks in the fridge. Enjoy!
